When was the moment you realized that people lie
Or you recognized the colour of your skin
Or you remembered that you can't play with that girl like you used to
When was the moment you realized that you'll never see her again?
When was the moment you forgot how to smile
Wished the day was over
Lashed out because you didn't know what to do while your insides were crawling

When was the last time you looked in the mirror and saw the beauty beneath the reflection of pain
When was the moment you stopped worrying about what you should do and just started doing what you needed to do
When was the last time you felt free?

How many moments have passed since you forgave yourself for
Loving
Trying
Hurting
Helping
Or just being a human
Being

Beneath our darkest fears is a darker one and when you shine a light on those
When you light the light of love
Of friendship
Of awe

Find peace
In
Chaos
In
Destruction
In
Pain

Forests need fires
AND
Water lilies need mud.

We need you.

Remember,
Always remember,
You can only know light with darkness.
